Quote Of The Day : Perfect Drift

“The Tin Man and Sandpit [Brz] were like pets,” Mandella said. “They wanted you to come to the door and pet them. This horse doesn’t like you coming to his stall much. He loves being outside and he wants you to pet him and play with him when he’s outside, but when he’s in there, it’s a home is your castle thing. It’s his castle, and you better respect it.”

Richard Mandella discussing 9 year old Perfect Drift. Mandella sees no reason for Perfect Drift not to win a Grade 1 stake this year joining John’s Call, John Henry, Super Diamond, and The Tin Man as the only horses to win a Grade 1 race at age nine.

I can't believe he is still running. WTG PD!

I'll have to go through my photo archives. I know I have a pic of him in Del Mar's paddock for the Pacific Classic in 2004(?), like the one you used.
