Another Noteworthy Quote

Conard said that yesterday in Florida a tank of diesel was $4.07 and today it is $4.22.
Conard - "I hope it goes all the way up to $10 a gallon!"
Me - "Why is that?"
Conard - "Then everyone will be forced to quit trucking and the government will step in and do something about it."
I think he makes a great point. Something needs to be done.

Last Night
We spent yesterday at the Homosassa Flea Market gathering up the odds and ends we needed to put the boat in the water. We ended up going to Rainbow River late yesterday afternoon. It was great... we were fighting darkness on our way back, though.
Today we are going to Wacasassa. So far the boat is great!

The New Mothman Prophet
For the past year, Conard has had a growing phobia about driving over bridges that span over big bodies of water. I don't think this Mississippi River bridge collapse in Minnesota will help much. But seriously, think of the similarities. The Mothman is from West Virginia and so is Conard. Also, wasn't the original sighting of the Mothman right before a bridge collapse? Hmmm...

The Hero of the Day
Double that to two thumbs up for Conard, Good Samaritan of the month! He averted a huge ordeal for a fellow truck driver by realizing that the other driver can't make it on the road into the drop off place where they are headed. Conard is probably 6 hours ahead of the guy (whose trailer is almost twice as long as Conards) and has already doubled back, lined up the Highway Patrol to direct traffic, called a wrecker company to help lift the guys hind end around corners, and contacted the other truck driver, his escort, and the company they work for to let them know of the impending problem. He shrugs it off but I say it's all in a days work if you are a superhero.
