Another Noteworthy Quote

Conard said that yesterday in Florida a tank of diesel was $4.07 and today it is $4.22.

Conard - "I hope it goes all the way up to $10 a gallon!"

Me - "Why is that?"

Conard - "Then everyone will be forced to quit trucking and the government will step in and do something about it."

I think he makes a great point. Something needs to be done.

It's insane, and everyone is feeling it. I'm notoriously bad for price comparison shopping at the grocery store, but I know I'm buying the same things and the bottom line just keeps getting bigger.

Yes, it's out of control! With Ben commuting everyday, we're filling up twice a week and at $50 a pop it hurts. We're switching over to the train- $89 for a whole month.

Damon is seriously considering trading in his car for a smaller Hybrid because of all his driving. He said he filled up three times this week!

Thank goodness I retired! Three years ago I had a 30 miles per day commute from Cheshire to Yale. I would never have been able to afford the gas prices now being charged.

Now that I'm here in the little condo, my mileage for the time frame October '07 thru March '08was under 300 miles! I'm staying home!

(The mileage is all on the computer now)
