Jack Kevorkian

Jack Kevorkian was in Gainesville, FL on Tuesday night. He gave a 70 minute speech on legalizing euthanasia at the University of Florida's O'Connell Center. He also spoke about the war in Iraq, and the criminal justice system.

Although I agree that a terminally ill person should have the right to end his or her life when the suffering is too hard to bear, I don't agree with his stance on the Iraq war or the criminal justice reforms he is seeking. Read Story:

How sweet, Chris. I thought you visited out of duty!

I agree that Dr. Kevorkian's views are whacked, but I think the terminal, end stage people that want to end the suffering, both for themselves and their families, should be able to do it. (only those with NO hope of recovery or painless death)

I am a strong supporter of hospice care. I think the dying should be given as much medication/drugs as they need to be comfortable. What does it matter if they get addicted?
