Usually due to their value as stallions. I know in the case of Smarty Jones that it would have cost over 1 million just to insure him because of his syndicated stud value. Hopefully we will see some of this crop race past 3 but probably not Street Sense or Hard Spun, who have both been purchased in part by Darley for future stud duty.

so far they are only scheduled to run up until Breeders Cup (October) and then a decision will be made.
That would be a fun day to be at Saratoga. I would like to see him run and I'm curious to see if he kicks butt!
