Just One Girl's Opinion...

Contrary to the news stories this morning, I really didn't think Bruce Spingsteen and the E Street Band's Superbowl performance last night was all that great. Bruce seemed stiff and winded through most of the performance.

What's your take? Did you watch? Did you like or dislike?

I liked it. They sounded good. Bruce is 59.

I don't suppose his support of Obama made him less entertaining to you?

Sorry, Chris... I'm not as shallow as some. I just thought he sounded like he couldn't catch his breath and really belt out the songs like he used to.

(I don't suppose you found it more entertaining than it was because of his support for Obama?)

nope. I have seen Bruce probably a dozen times.

I only caught "Glory Days" at the end and thought that sounded good. But Ben saw the whole thing and wasn't super-impressed by it. But he's not a fan, so you can't go by that.

I think he looks amazing for 59 and he's ultra-cool. But, I agree, his 'stamina' isn't quite the same as it used to be.

bruce was great..i loved it.hard to put a show on in 12 minutes..considering his shows can go for 4 hours

I don't think he tanked, I just think it wasn't a GREAT show...

I KNEW when Glory Days started he'd change "baseball player" to "football player." And he did. I guess that's all I've got to say about it. Except that I'm glad Little Steven got dressed for the show. (I've seen him twice walk into the same store in NYC, and he had on flip flops, sweatpants--and of course, the bandanna.)

I hate professional football, so I was wishing that the Super Bowl game was on for those 12 minutes and Bruce could play all the rest of the time. It was obvious that the time limitation was the culprit - when has Bruce ever cared about that???

Little Steven wears the bandana to cover up hair loss from a car accident... or so I read.

That doesn't explain the sweatpants or the flip flops....

I didn't watch. I did, however, see the last few minutes of the game (after Anne of Green Gables was over).

Amy, I LOVE that you watched Anne of Green Gables instead of the Super Bowl. Had I known it was on, I would have, too.
