Quote Of The Day: Another Reason Why I Hate "Dick" Dutrow

“I just didn’t see what they were saying when they called him one of the best horses of the last century. I just didn’t see it like everyone else did.”

Richard Dutrow Jr., trainer of dual classic winner Big Brown, responding inUSA Today to comments about Curlin, the reigning Horse of the Year who finished fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) on October 25 at the Oak Tree meeting at Santa Anita Park
*for the record: Curlin showed up for any challenge on any surface on multiple continents. He also finished a respectable 4th place in the Breeder's Cup Classic, on a surface that he couldn't dig into and get traction on. Easy for the man whose horse got "hurt" and didn't compete in this race (or outside of the US for that matter) to talk smack talk. Curlin is no less a champion than he was the day before the Classic.
