“I know there are doubts that maybe Big Brown wasn’t that good. I’m pretty sure, though, those doubts will be dispelled after Sunday.”
IEAH Stables Co-President Michael Iavarone, in the New York Times, on dual classic winner Big Brown’s expected start in the $1-million Haskell Invitational Stakes (G1) on Sunday at Monmouth Park.

I thought they were going to run in the Travers. Did that race already take place?
The Travers is on August 23rd at Saratoga. I'm not sure if Big Brown will be in it, but I think the outcome of the Haskell may dictate that decision.
Is Dutrow still the trainer and who is the jockey?
I recently drove through Saratoga just prior to the start of the season. It is a really cute town.
Yes on Dutrow... not sure about Desormoux.
Very cute town, indeed.
Weekend forecasts are for T-storms which will affect the Monmouth track. What has Big Brown been doing since the Belmont?
I'm not sure, Joan, As promised, the Bog Brown camp has been pretty quiet leading up to this race. In Dutrow's interview, he seemed cautiously optimistic. (a far cry from the pre-Belmont braggart) Big Brown had a sizzling work at Aqueduct last week and a tightener on the turf yesterday. I'm not sure why Dutrow chose to work on the turf?
