
New Mexico-bred star Peppers Pride’s run at history will be pushed back for at least a week after Ruidoso Downs canceled Sunday’s Zia Festival card when the remnants of Hurricane Dolly deluged the track with six inches of rain. The five-year-old Desert God mare was entered in the six-furlong Lincoln Handicap for New Mexico-bred females in an attempt to secure the modern-day North American record of 17 consecutive victories.
