Quote Of The Day
“He didn’t embarrass himself and he sure didn’t embarrass me.”
Jess Jackson, majority owner of Horse of the Year Curlin, who finished second in his turf debut on Saturday in the Man o’ War Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park. Jackson and trainer Steve Asmussen were hoping for a definite sign that the Curlin would be able to move forward toward a possible start in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Fr-G1), the world’s richest turf race, later this year in France. The colt will head to Saratoga Race Course to train on the Oklahoma Training Track for his next race, which is undecided, although Jackson said he believes Curlin needs another turf test

Was it an exciting race? I wish I was able to catch it.
I didn't catch the race either... me and Conard were busy laying sod all day. It had to be exciting, really, judging by the caliber of horses that were in it. I think Curlin's second place was noteworthy considering it was his first turf start, in Grade 1 company, against two prior Breeder's Cup Turf winners.
