be in the winner’s circle when they get to the quarter
pole. That’s how I feel. I don’t see that this
horse can beat him.”
Trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. on whether Peter
Pan Stakes (G2) winner Casino Drive poses a threat
to Big Brown’s chance to win the Belmont Stakes (G1) and secure
the first Triple Crown since 1978

That picture of him goes so well with the cocky quotes. He looks ultra-confident.
I have mixed feelings about Big Brown v. Casino Drive. That is mainly because of IEAH and their decision not to race BB after the Belmont. I'd like to see Big Brown and Curlin run in the fall. Though if that were to happen I'd like to see it on dirt rather than in the BC Classic on poly. Just found you blog and like it.
Thanks Kurt. I agree about IEAH. It's a real cop-out for them to not continue to race Big Brown, and frankly, why do they care? They already have his stud deal in place and $50 million for him. I also have a hard time warming up to Richard Dutrow. Horsemen are supposed to be superstitious and afraid of "angering the racing Gods." Dutrow is more than toeing the line!
but at the same time, how nice would it be to see a triple crown winner?
I don't see anything wrong with a little smack talk. Besides, it ain't bragging if it's true.
Nora you are right I too want a triple crown so I'll be pulling for Big Brown.
