Have Their Brains Fallen Out?

The governor in Georgia wants to pray for an end to the catastrophic drought that the state is having, and there is a group who is protesting it. They feel it is an infringement on their rights.

WHAT??? Do they understand that they are almost OUT of water?

aren't you real close to georgia? frankly, both sides sounds less than bright. i would not be happy if that is all my governor had to contribute to a crisis.

I saw in on CNN Headline News the other day... I'm pretty sure that's not all the goverment is doing, there have been restrictions in place for a while and they are piping water in from Florida. I just think it's a stupid thing to protest. Why would anyone care if the governor recommends prayer? Can it hurt?

I say they make 75% of the people living in greater Atlanta move to the midwest. Balance things out a bit.

Umm, hi. We're moving you to Wyoming, K? Buh-bye.

what exactly is another example of our "godless society"? Nobody stopped the governor or anyone else from praying. There are people who will get their panties in a twist over just about anything. Next thing you know they will be protesting the ritual goat sacrifices our governor makes every other Friday in hopes of balancing the state budget.

Whose panties were in a twist, some idiots who were afraid that their rights were being trampled upon? They need to vote for Obama so they can sit at home on welfare and have plenty of time to protest whatever stupid thing they can come up with next.

I'm sure the Goat Sacrificers Society has rights, too. I didn't know you were a member.

They took the Christ out of Christmas, they bitch and moan about prayer in school, we said prayer everyday in homeroom, NO parent or student ever complained.
It was a great way to start the day. They complain about the pledge of alligience: One Nation Under God Prayer is a GOOD thing, try it sometime!!!! OH and by the way, it rained in Atlanta, so there you go.

Nora, yes those are the twisted panty people I was referring to. The rest of this is just an ad nauseum attack. Who the hell are "they"? There is no war on Christianity! They make up stuff like that to sell books. I go to church every week by the way. Heck, I was an altar boy(if you can picture that)! There was lots of prayer in my school as well - right before the tests started. Why does it need to be officially sanctioned? Not sure what the connection is between Obama and welfare, or welfare and church-state issues for that matter. The lunatic fringe in San Francisco no more represents main stream liberal thinking than do the wingnuts in Florida represent mainstream conservatism.

I never said ONE thing about an attack on Christianity... I was referring to the nuts who were protesting. Those same nuts that have the right by our Constitution to NOT participate in the prayer just as much as the ones who were for the prayer. So my point was, what the heck are they protesting, anyway?? The prayer wasn't MANDATORY. They weren't being FORCED to participate. My point was also that they chose to waste time, energy, and effort on a tired (non)issue about their rights (that were NOT infringed upon) instead of working on a solution to the water crisis. PS It's not the goverments job to take care of everything. This is not a socialist society. The bitchers (IMHO) need to get proactive and start trying to help themselves as well as their community before looking for the government to give hand outs.
