The Green Monkey to try Hollywood turf in third start

After losing decisively in two starts on
dirt at Belmont Park, The Green Monkey
will test the grass on Wednesday at
Hollywood Park in a 11⁄16-mile maiden race.
Jockey Garrett Gomez will pilot the
Forestry colt in a field of ten in the fourth
race.
The Green Monkey was part of the
string of about 30 horses trainer Todd
Pletcher shipped to Hollywood in late
October.
Slowed by a hind end injury, The Green
Monkey did not make his first start until September 15 at Belmont
Park, more than 18 months after Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith,
and Susan Magnier bought him for a world-record $16-million in
the Fasig-Tipton Calder sale of selected two-year-olds in training.
The Green Monkey finished a well-beaten third in his debut at
six furlongs. He followed with a fourth-place finish at seven furlongs
on October 13 at Belmont.

I still can't get past his name.

"Green monkey! That funky monkey!" (Sung to the beat of Brass Monkey by The Beastie Boys.)

He finished a fading 4th again. I guess he isn't a wonder horse!

Maybe he has a 'crooked, jerky jockey'?
