HUGE day for sports in NE

Three major sports, three different venues.

The New England Patriots easily dispatched the San Diego Chargers yesterday after a week filled with scandal. Brady shined, throwing three TD's to win the game 38-14.

The Red Sox didn't fare as well. Derek Jeter broke an eighth-inning tie with a three-run homer that sent the New York Yankees to a 4-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night.

Finally, Clint Bowyer won his first ever Nascar Cup Race yesterday at New Hampshire International Speedway. Yesterday would have been a great day to live in New England where there was something for everyone in the world of sports.

Ben was a little sad for his Chargers huge defeat, though. But it was nice to see the Patriots come out and do what they do best. Cheating not included.

My advice to Ben: Get over it big guy! The Patriots THRIVE on adversity!

I've been lucky enough to either watch or listen to every game Derek Jeter has played in with the Yankees since 1996. A long-time baseball fan, brought to Yankee Stadium by Dad before I could walk, I have real knowledge about the sport. I've never seen as complete a player and person as Derek. He's on a straight path to Cooperstown and he had the final 'say' at Fenway last night.

I've discussed football before here, but I was thrilled to see Commissioner Goodell appear with Bobby Costas and correct all the little guy's opinons. Goodell is the son of the former Senator from New York and understands politics and law. Bill Belichick and the Patriots are in for a year under the Commissioner's microscope.

I know nothing about NASCAR and not afraid to admit it.
