I saw this news story about Rudy Giuliani and his wife the other day that paints his wife as a scheming social climber. Read story:
But the part that surprised me the most was a poll on how much a presidential candidates spouse factors in when people are picking who to vote for. The results of over 98,000 people were:
When voting for president, how much does a candidate's spouse affect your choice?
A little 44%
A lot 32%
Not at all 24%
A lot 32%
Not at all 24%
Do you agree with the results? How would you vote?

I do. I think Laura Bush's sweet, humble personality helped the Big W...especially after 8 years of Hillary.
I like Laura Bush, but I don't feel as if it weighed in on my decision on who to vote for. I'm very surprised that it does for anyone. I would personally prefer the first ladies (or men) to be low key and fly under the radar.
Don't forget who the political genius is here, OK?
Ha! I really like Laura Bush and I think it did effect my decision to vote for W.
But in general, I don't know.
Mel, that according to one very disturbed friend of mine? (admit it Chris!) Not very compelling evidence of genius..
laura bush is the perfect stepford wife - in public anyway. nora is so jealous that you are in fact a political genius, mel. you can be a genius too nora, just not in politics. you have been living in redneck florida for too long!
