Big Horse Racing News of the Week


Any Given Saturday - Darley has finalized a deal to purchase AGS for stud duty after his scheduled Breeder's Cup start this fall. Darley now has three of the top Classic winners/starters from this year on their stud roster. They had purchased interest in Street Sense and Hard Spun back in May.


More Happy - becomes first stake winner for Freshman sire, Vindication after winning the Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga. More Happy is trained by Bob Baffert.


Street Sense - breezes a sharp 59.3 in preparation for his next start in the Travers on Aug. 26

He breezed the 5F under regular rider Calvin Borel at Saratoga.


Calvin Borel - will be honored later this year with the Mr. Fitz award from the National Turf Writers Association. The Mr. Fitz is given to a grup or individual who typifies the spirit of horse racing.


Sharp Susan - will run in the Lake Placid Stakes tomorrow at Saratoga. The race is 1 1/8 on the turf. (this is the neice to Certain Circles)


Kodiak Kowboy - seeks his third straight stakes win in todays Saratoga Special for 2 year olds. He is trained by Steve Asmussen and by current leading Freshman sire, Posse.
Graeme Hall - had two 2 year old winners at Hippodromo Camarero in Puerto Rico. Charlestown Flash, a dk. bay colt, won a 5 F MSW, and Me Oh My, a bay filly, won a 5.5F MSW.

Kodiak Kowboy easily won the Saratoga Special yesterday.
