I think slots won't really save racetracks. They have been trying to push slot in MD at racetracks for years now, but they haven't been able to get it through the legislature. I read a summary of a recent study that said that putting in slots does not help purses at all in the places it has been tried like Delaware and Charlestown. The people who go for the slots aren't betting on the races. The stands are still empty. I suppose you could argue that the added revenue keeps the tracks from folding, but it isn't really helping the racing. IMHO

That is bad news. I wonder if it will have any impact on the NH legislators?
