Ellis Park recruits 17 year old racehorse as equine ambassador
Alpena Magic will begin his new career on Saturday as a featured guest at the track's Early At Ellis program. The event will be held every Saturday in July from 7:45 -9 AM and will feature breakfast, games, equine presentations, backside tours, and a chance to see the horses exercise.
Alpena Magic was originally retired at age 15 but became so depressed that those around him didn't think he would make it. He earned $206,482 during his 14 year racing career and was stake placed twice as a five year old.
