Interesting Facts I've Read This Week

IPods and MP3 Players - You can download workouts, support for quitting smoking, breathalyzer test (IBreath), medical stats, and brain quizzes on your media devices.

Pets - Many places that pets used to not be allowed are now places that welcome you to bring them. At Chow, a dim sum wine bar in New Haven, CT, every Wednesday is Yappy Hour. In Charlotte, NC, there is a Dog Bar, and in Portland, OR, the Tin Shed Garden Cafe has specials like Ham Barker Helper and other tasty treats.

The White Sox and Padres, along with many other major league teams set aside a game day for canine guests.

Sports - For the "die-hard" fan, you can now have your favorite team logo and colors to adorn your urn or casket when you die. A company called Eternal Image has signed a contract with 8 major league baseball franchises including the Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals, Braves, Cubs, Tigers, Phillies, and Dodgers.

Health - Eating strawberries slows the growth of oral and colon cancers. Cloudy, unclarified apple juice has 4 times the cancer fighting polyphenols as clear juice.

Aren't you chock full of interesting facts today! I think a big part of the reason that the Padres have a "dog day," besides the fact that it is cool, is because the ballpark is sponsored by Petco. All of our Petco stores in San Diego county sell Padres gear for people and pets too.
